Well, I'm with her much of the way but is it like the Oscars when we were young?
Naw, back then you at least knew the songs...Even most of the movies...
Today there are folks nominated for stuff I've never heard of nor seen...
I find most the the Hollywood generated flicks are garbage...
Lots of green screen...Lots of bad writing...Lots of BAD acting...and even worst direction...
BUT once in a while a "Winner Winner Chicken Dinner" arrives...
I hearken back to Bob Hope as the genial host...This clip is from the FIRST televised Oscar broadcast back in 1953...
Suspect they didn't charge just under $2 million for a :30 back then like they will for this year's show...
Hope was still doing the hosting chores in 1966 and beyond...This was the FIRST colocast of the Oscars...Look at the stars in attendance...

Today they go from here to there trying to dial in a host...
Last year Ellen sucked...Yep, I';m a guy who doesn't think Ellen is friggin' funny...
We've had doped up actors try to do it...
Billy Crystal was more than credible but he is tired of trying to top himself each year...
Tonight a song and dance guy gives it a try...He has scored well on the Tony show, so let's see...
Who will Win? It's really a BIG who cares?
