Things Begin To Get Real STUPID!

Has it come to this...

Consider the current plight of the Los Angeles Dodgers...

The Dodgers, steeped in baseball history and lore...

The Dodgers, local baseball outlet for the show biz folks and fans...

The Dodgers, once a proud winning team with tradition and now a lowly sub par baseball club...

By now everyone knows they have declared bankruptcy...Chapter 11...

Heck, they even owe Vince Scully some bucks...Amazing...Of all people one would think you would take care of him first..

.

OK, what's next?

They need to get their fiscal house in order and MLB has in essence taken over control of the club and it's everyday operations...

Now we come to the crux of the Dodger financial woes...They Need MONEY!

So, some smart folks think up a fun merchandising item...

It is a Dodger jersey with the name Chapter on the rear along with the number 11...Get it?  Chapter 11...

I even wanted to order up one...

Well, MLB steps to the plate and says NO!  They can't sell this jersey because it demeans the game or something like that...

They Need The MONEY!

Wake up MLB...Time to first - get a sense of humor and second - join the "Real World"...

Who do you want to be...The NFL?

p.s.  Do you know how the Dodgers got their name?

Doin' What YOU Like

You wake up and go at it day after day...

For many folks they never do what they truly would love to do...

It's back to the same old coal mine day after day...the same old grind...

BUT

Lucky ones find either a full time gig or a part time way to do what they desire

I am lucky with the latter...I enjoy dinking around on the computer doing audio and videos pieces plus writing for Facebook and Twitter (got to be super creative to do those short messages)

AND

I have a part time DJ biz that affords me a great outlet to get out there and perform...I've been at weddings (many of them) along with private parties and kids events...Even some corporate shindigs...

You always meet up with good folk and they like what I do

Never had a complaint yet about my gigs...Knock on my MP3's...

Anyway, my hope is that everyone can be in the same boat...doing what they like...

It makes you smile...It makes you feel good...

You're not in that boat?  Come abroad and make your time on this mortal orb pass by with a smile...

Stay frosty my friends!

Signs Point That Things Are Still Really Tough

We've been in this "co-called" recession for two years...

I happen to believe it is beyond a recession in many areas of the country...

One that has been hardest hit is Sin City...

We continue to see housing costs plummet and foreclosures still at the highest levels of any city in the U.S.

But I noted something this week that speaks volumes about this current fiscal mess...

Guess who is late in payments on his homestead?

They are just about ready to put it on the auction block...

You'd never think of this guy...

He has been in the public eye over three decades and one would think he owned all the banks in his home town...

But nope, this cat is just like many in the world today...

PRINCE is looking to have his house taken back by the bank...

Word is that they are just about ready to put his parcel on the auction block, though many think he will come up with the dough in order to put off the financial wolves...

Here's the whole story:

The Sheriff's Office in CARVER COUNTY has reported that PRINCE has fallen behind $368,382 on the mortgage to his 20-acre estate in CHANHASSEN, the MINNEAPOLIS suburb that he has owned for 31 years.
Although the report has been denied by his publicist; a local legal firm was quoted as saying there is a reasonable likelihood that PRINCE  will send the payment before the property hits the auction block.
According to the foreclosure notice, PRINCE bought the property in 1994 for $605,000 and leveled the place in 2005, leaving only the tennis court and gatehouse. The property is currently valued at $1.5 million. Given that PRINCE came up with $.13 million last year in current and delinquent property taxes on 14 parcels in CHANHASSEN, it would seem unlikely that he would allow the property to go into foreclosure

Just goes to show that nearly everyone is affected today...But PRINCE?  Geez, what has he been doing with all that dough, buying fleets of motorcycles?

Oh well, I have enough dough to get through this weekend and I hope you do too...

Onward to much better times...

Personally I have seen some lift in my business locally...One can only hope that the NFL doesn't let us all down this Fall...

Stay frosty friends!

Recently a fellow broadcaster made the final trip to the eternal studio in the sky...

He was well known in our circles BUT he is now gone at the ripe young age of 62...

SIXTY-TWO?

Damn, that's how old I am...

Makes you sit up and say, "Wow", that could have been me...

We all know we get the trip in and the guaranteed journey back out but when it strikes close to home you begin to think different thoughts...

I am one of those guys who enjoy hanging around...Learning new things...Seeing interesting flicks and TV shows...And creating some new media stuff now and again...

Recently I have had  an inordinate amount of work on my teeth...Yea, they go quick when you abuse them for decades with heaps of sugars and such...

Now I find it difficult to chew and then digest what swirls around my gums...the positive offshoot of this is that I am losing large amounts of weigh...

So much came off that I actually visited my Doctor to see if there was any problem...He states that I am fine...

Meanwhile the weight continues to drip off my waist week by week...

It is always back to the same outlook about life...Enjoy each and every moment you have...

Guess I'll keep on doing that...

Sixty-two is just too damn soon to pass on...

Too damn soon...
